Академията за Филмови изкуства и наука, официално ще направи ревизия на кампанията за номинациите за 2023г. Във виртуалното пространство настана война, след като актрисата Андрея Райзбъро за „To Leslie“ получи номинация за главна женска роля, а Виола Дейвис „Жената война“ и Даниел Дедуайлър за „Тил“ не получиха номинации, докато Мишел Уилямс за „Семейство Фейбълман“ бе изпратена в категорията за поддържащ роля.
Кампанията на екипът зад „To Leslie“ и фрагменти от нея, като директно изпращане на имейли, до членове на Академията, са причина тази номинация да е в дъното на ревизията.
Целта на Академията е да осигури честно и етично състезание. Посветили сме се на това да подсигурим един наистина всеобхватен процес, при определяне на номинациите. Ще ревизираме кампанията около тазгодишните номинации, за да се убедим, че правилата не са били нарушени. Единствения възможен нарушител на правилата до момента е актрисата Франсис Фишър (майката на Роуз в „Титаник“). Тя пусна поста в Instagram с препоръка членовете на Академията с право на глас да поставят Андрея Райзбъро най-високо в списъка си, защото Виола Дейвис и Даниел Дедуайлър са сигурни номинирани, а Мишел Йо и Кейт Бланшет със сигурност се борят за статуетката.
Президентът на Академията, Джанет Янг сподели пост в Instagram, възхвалявайки изпълнението на Мишел Йо в „Everything Everywhere All at Once“. Това мигновено предизвика отпор и съвсем набързо Янг изтри поста си. Подобни проблеми трябваше да са в мислите на всички, преди номинациите тази година.
