На Оскарите за поредна година няма номинирани жени в категорията за режисура. Три от четирите победители в актьорските категории НЕ СА номинирани за Оскар. Изключение прави Рене Зелуегър, която е сочена за носител и на статуетката през тази нощ. Петте номинирани за поддържаща роля, НЕ БЯХА бели жени. Адам Сандлър посече Оскарите в речта си от сцената, докато получаваще статуетката за мъжка роля.
